Wednesday

Nope! Nothing yet!!! I'm NOT a patient person I want kittens and I want them NOW! LOL But Turblow will blow when she is good and ready. She sure is a people pussy. Amy visited her after school and Blow sat on her lap Amy was buzzing! Blow has done all the things a cat needs to do eat, drink, pee and poo. The poo was a gift in her litter box as I settled down on my laptop in 'her' room. She has no interest in any of her beds proffering the windowsill and my chairs. These are white leather dining chair I brought a couple of weeks ago. They are now covered with towels and I'm hoping the survive... but if not?  Well cats are a whole lot more important than chairs.

So I want to know who's the other side of this door then?

She's Here

This morning my mum and I went to Scratching Posts to collect my Foster girl.. Mummy to be. Amy wanted to call her Turblow OK, so should be TURBO but she can't say it! LOL So mum sat in the back with Turblow (I think we call her Blow for short) Why Turblow? well after the racing sail in the film Turbo of course! She is sooooo sweet been jumping around having a nosey at everything setted now and sleeping on a chair having eaten some munches and drank some water. Not used her toilet yet. Have been in her room a few times and she climes/rubs me. No purr as yet. The other cats are intrigued but they will not be allowed to go in her room and for some time yet she will not be allowed out. Oh, and as I will often mention Sophie and Amy I had better tell you who they are. Well they are my daughters Sophie is eighteen and Amy is eleven.

Getting ready

Today (Monday 25/02/2014) I Sophie and I went for a drive to the vet I will need to use if my foster cat or kittens need one. It's in Potters Bar about half an hour away. It was easy to find and we came back another way this took about the same time so I think it will need to depend on the time of day as to weather we go cross country on on the motorway? We stopped of a Tesco for some shopping them home to finishing moving a few breakables in the dining room (nursery). By late afternoon I was just telling Sophie that it looked like no news today a message popped up in my facebook messages box.  Now most of these messages I get are just people say 'hi' in a range on languages and I just click them off as I don't do messages unless I'm buying/selling something on FB. So I was about to close the box and.... it was from Scratching Post the cat rescue people. They have a cat for me. She came in last week is very pregnant and when she was brought in as a 'stray' she had two 7-9 month kittens. VERY EXCITED but got to wait until Tuesday before I can collect her.

You can find Scratching Posts on Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/thescratchingpostcatrescue

And this is their WEB SITE http://scratchingpost.co.uk/

You can also by dinners for cats on EBay sometimes but they are not doing this at the moment. I will let you know when they have more.

Hello and welcome

Yesterday (Saturday 22/02/2014) I had my visit and was approved as a foster carer for cats and kittens. I have four cats myself and at first I thought I would just get another couple of kittens. But when talking with my daughters I thought it might be nice to try fostering? I'm not so sure how this is going to work out as I'm a little easy with the heart and not so sure I will be able to give the mum and kittens back? But I love kittens and already have cats so I just keep telling myself if I can give them back we can have more.... so we will see? There is a real shortage of foster carers and the shelter I'm helping is a very good one it's where I got my last two cats from.
So I'm ready now what will I get? A mummy who already has kittens or one still pregnant?  Will she have an easy birth? Most cats need little help but a lot of these mums are little more than kittens themselves PLEASE, PEOPLE GET YOUR CATS DONE!!! It's not fare on anyone especially the cats. A lot of places (RSPCA, Cat Protection etc) offer discounted or even free neutering. Just make a few phone calls. Will she have one kitten or eight? Will she be able to feed them OK? How will I handle it if she or one/all the kittens became ill or died? Well, I guess I will just have to wait and see fingers crossed all works out and they are well.
I'm going to use my dining room as a nursery I just need to move a few things when I know she/they are on their way.
I'm going to check out the vets with Sophie (my daughter) tomorrow so I know where it is BEFORE I need to use it!
